The Documents module provides a central, searchable repository for all employee and company files.

Accessing Documents

Navigate to Dashboard → HR → Documents.

Document Table

Columns include: document display name, original file name, category, assigned employee, upload date, file size, and download count.

Uploading a Document

  1. Click + Upload Document.
  2. Drag and drop a file or click to browse. Supported formats: PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PNG, JPG.
  3. Enter a display name for the document.
  4. Select a category: Contract, ID, Certificate, Policy, Report, or Other.
  5. Assign to a specific employee, or leave unassigned for company-wide documents.
  6. Set visibility: Private (only you), Team, or Public.
  7. Save.

Viewing a Document

Click any row to open the document detail sheet, which shows full metadata and a Download button. Supported file types may display an inline preview.

Downloading

Click the download icon in the row or the Download button in the detail sheet. Each download is tracked and the count is shown in the table for audit purposes.

Editing and Deleting

Use the row action menu to update the document's metadata (name, category, visibility) or to permanently delete the file. Deleted files cannot be recovered.
